For shops, creators and community managers who share links in chats and posts.

See which channel your link actually worked on

When the same address goes out on WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and a newsletter, the clicks all arrive in one pile. Give each channel its own short link and the pile sorts itself.

The problem

Where it usually goes wrong

  • One link everywhere

With a single address you can see the total, but not which post, group or channel produced it.

  • Apps hide where people came from

Many chat and social apps send no referrer, so their visits show up as direct traffic. A dedicated link per channel doesn't depend on it.

  • Long, ugly addresses

Product pages with long paths look untrustworthy in a message. A short, readable slug is easier to read, type and trust.

How it works

Three steps with IntelliLinks

  1. 01

    One link per channel

Create /promo-wa for WhatsApp, /promo-ig for Instagram and /promo-fb for Facebook, all pointing at the same page. Tag them so you can find them together.

  2. 02

    Share each where it belongs

Post every link only in its own channel. Add UTM parameters if you also want the source to show up in your own website analytics.

  3. 03

    Compare

Open the analytics for any date range: clicks and unique visitors per link, with countries, devices, browsers and referrers.

What you use

The parts that matter here

  • Readable slugs and tags

Choose your own slug or let one be generated, tag links by channel, and search or bulk-edit them when a campaign has dozens.

  • Clicks and unique visitors

Both are shown, so a post that was clicked a hundred times by ten people looks different from one clicked by a hundred.

  • UTM parameters on the way through

Set UTM source, medium and campaign once on the link and they are added to the destination for you.

  • Numbers you can trust

Known bots are filtered out of your counts, and visitors are never identified: only a hash of the IP address is stored.

Example

Example: a shop's weekend promotion

A shop announces a weekend offer on its WhatsApp broadcast list, its Instagram story and its Facebook page. It creates three short links to the same offer page, one per channel, and posts each in its own place.

On Monday the analytics show which channel sent the most clicks and which sent the most distinct people. Next time, the shop spends its effort there.

Numbers in this example are left out on purpose: they depend entirely on your audience.

Questions

Good to know

Why does WhatsApp or Instagram traffic show as Direct?

Many apps don't tell the website where a visit came from. That is why the reliable method is one link per channel: the link itself tells you the source.

Can I see who clicked?

No. IntelliLinks counts visits by country, device, browser and source, and stores only a hash of the visitor's IP address, never the address itself.

Is there a limit on links?

The free plan includes 1,000 links and 50,000 clicks a month. Paid plans raise both, and every plan has every feature.
